I love learning new words so thought it would be cool to make a thread about word things.

What are your favourite obscure word(s)? Words that are unique and not regularly used in normal conversation but are kind of beautiful/make you love language?

please also add the definitions to save Google time and maximise TSR time for the rest of us :ahee:

I like athazagoraphobia- which is the fear of forgetting or being forgotten. :afraid:

And callipygian- having shapely buttocks. :perv:

There are so many more and I will contribute more intermittently.

Mmmmm I love loquacious. Ever since a primary school teacher described me as a 'loquacious and disobedient individual who to my surprise continues to exceed all expectations'

Also love egregious. I have so many more words. Gonna add a few imminently.

    1. I'd have settled for that in a school report!

    2. What kind of school did you go to!? (primary teachers don't typically display such diction)

    3. Erogenous

It was primary school and I went to a private primary school which had no secondary attached. Only went there because of full scholarship though it was bare expensive.
