    It's just that you took the '+17' to the other side, so it becomes -17

    Super simple, you shifted the 17 to the other side of the '=' sign without making it negative

    I didn't spot any mistakes? That answer would make sense if the coefficient a was positive

    Check the question - is the coefficient of the quadratic term negative?

    At the end did you remember to subtract 17 from both sides? You seem to have a positive answer ...

    Technology is a nasty business. What appears right side up on your phone or tablet or even your computer is secretly the wrong way round unless you take it the right way round on your device.

    I do not own a smart phone ...
    I take pictures with a camera or scanner.

    Yeah I realised when I checked but didn't write it down because was irrelevant to the correct answer they've provided. I'm just going to double check the question. Thanks

    Fgs I wrote the question wrong -_- it was
    -2x^2 +3x -(2k+1)

    Fml.
