Mine only get uncomfortable after 15+ hours, and that's beyond the recommended use period anyway.

And no, I shouldn't think getting tired a couple of hours is normal. Are you new to them, or have you had them a while? If you've just got lenses, then it could just be that you need to get used to them. If not, go and see someone. I dont know who'd be better to recommnend though...a doctor or an optician...:s-smilie:

my boyfriend wears lenses but only when he plays football or goes to the gym. he usually tries not to put them in at other times because his eyes always get REALLY red and it makes him look sleepy. i think his main problem is that they dry-out his eyes. he's tired a lot but that's stress-related, don't think lenses are supposed to make you tired, maybe you're allergic to them, you should definitely stop using them if they are the reason you're tired, cuz that's really not normal!

You should be able to leave them in for at least 12 hours without them being uncomfortable. That said, do you spend a lot of time somewhere with air conditionning? I've found that can make them dry and sore. Are you sure your prescription is correct? I'd go back to the opticians.

I wear mine from 6am to about 11pm - around 17 hours. Towards the end I feel sleepy and they feel "thick"... but after I take them out, my eyes miss them...

My optician got me into trouble because I wear them so much - it ripped (tiny) part of my eye or something? But just didn't wear them for two weeks and it was fine.

I use eye drops - the "refreshing" ones you can get seem to work well when your contacts feel a bit dried out. And when you can, have a break in the middle of your day (2 hours, say) then put your lenses back in after - your eyes will feel much better.

Never wear them as long as I do, I do because I have to.

yer ive had contacts for a year or so now but they shouldnt make u feel sleepy after just a few hours! might be a good idea just to go and get yourself chacked out at the optitions because all sorts of things can go wrong with them. It might just be that your eyes are too sensitive and u just have to change brands! xx

do you seriously mean they make you feel sleepy? that's not normal at all.

my eyes don't produce enough tears so half the time my eyes aren't too comfortable but there's no problem with me still wearing them, as long as i have regular check ups.

I know exactly the feeling you mean... mine make me feel 'sleepy' its not really tiredness... just my eyes

I wear the ones you wear night and day and change every 30 days and have no problems with them other than very occasional dryness but i just use drops for lenses and it clears it up.
