# Math question watch

1. Hii,
Soo i'm practicing a paper for uni test tomorrow and I just don't know how to work out this question:

A jet ski uses 6 litres of fuel per hour.
The fuel tank is holds 24 litres when full.
The fuel gauge on one jet ski shows that the tank is 3/4 full.
How long should the jet ski run before the tank is empty?

So could someone show me the working out and apparently the answer is meant to be 3 hours..
How do i get that..?
Thaanks..!

2. Hi, Basically a full tank is 24 litres, when full so thats 4/4 and 4 hours, so if you divide 24 /4 each section means 6l per hourwhich is 1/4 so if its 3/4 that basically means 3 hours because 24L which is 4 hours. Hope that helps, sorry if your confused, pm me if your stuck
3. 1/4 of 24 litres is 6 litres
3/4 of 24 litres is 18 litres
18 litres / 6 ( Amount of litres used per hour ) is 3
So the answer is 3 hours.
