As soon as I have completed my GCSEs I will be heading off to Naval Training... But there is one question I stupidly forgot to ask my recruiter... How many press-up and sit-ups must I be able to do in Royal Navy fitness test?

Surely they won't have a set limit given that your weight will make it easier or difficult and your technique?

They do, I believe it is 20 full press ups in a minute

    Press ups 23

    Sit ups 39

    For a male between 17-24.

However, you should be absolutely blowing these benchmarks out of the water. Ideally, you want to be looking at 80+ press ups in under 2 minutes and around the same amount of sit ups if you want to stand out.

    Best of luck during training!

Well, that's piss anyway even if you are 18stone!

Still silly to use push-ups though... when they're a bodyweight exercise.

    Welcome to the Royal Navy!

If you fancy doing some more, there's normally a group of us that do a workout at 2100 everyday to keep active. Let's see what you can do!

    Which is in 5 minutes.

Heres the catch though. There are also things like a run with a pack too!

haha easy? there are 300 seconds in 5 mintutes so i wonder how you do 2100 push ups in that time. you can't even do 300 push ups in 300 seconds come on, i know you are lying to me

if i may ask, can you jog without breaking for an hour and a half?

Now that's a good exercise! Combines strength and cardiovascular endurance really well.
