The media promotes smoking to children - isn't there a better way? watch

    • Thread Starter

It's clear that the media (in songs, on television, in games, in films and the like) promote smoking to children - characters may puff on a cigarette or cigar, songs aimed at children may talk about someone smoking a cigarette (I heard this today), and so on and so forth - I've noticed this for years (if not most of my life).

The first thing that springs to mind is that the people at the top want to reap taxes and control the population - it makes sense and seems to be the most sensical answer. I don't doubt that this is the reason.

However, isn't this a cheap and dirty way of getting things done?

What's stopping the world ironing out teaching people to smoke?

This is obviously a failure to protect your citizens, and due to what, ultimately? Laziness and selfishness?

I feel that the people at the top wouldn't need to resort to cheap tactics to control the population and to make money if they would devote a lot more of their time to helping the world.
