Okay so one of internet friends who lives in the USA is sending me something and I want to send her something. But I don't know how to go about it... I know her address, do I buy something and then send a parcel?? Or do I order something online and get it delivered to her address??

    How do these things work???

Post office. A place for posting things.

Or, like you say, you can order something and send it directly... Less personal, but likely cheaper. You've answered your own question.
