So I've firmed Bournemouth and I'm stuck between which accommodation to choose out of Cranborne and Dorchester...

I've heard Cranborne is very lively, has been refurbished and is the centre for all the parties. Whereas Dorchester isn't as lively and is furthest away from Cranborne and Purbeck so people don't go there for pre-drinks. But it looks the best inside and is opposite from a gym, asda and other places.

I'm so stuck, which one is the best out of these two?

    Hi Vices!

My name is Patricia and I'm a final year student at BU and also a representative for them on TheStudentRoom!

Trust me when I say you are not the only one who is trying to choose between accommodation! Both of the halls are very good, I'd say the most popular two (but that's just my opinion). Both are fairly large, housing over 500 students each! Both are newly done or re-done, Dorchester was opened in 2012 and Cranborne re-opened in 2013. There is a possibility having a 6ft bed (larger than a single but not as big as a double) in both - although Dorchester guarantees this, whereas its just one of the options in Cranborne.

I would say that both are in prime locations, Cranborne is a stones throw from the rest of the halls in Lansdowne, but then Dorchester is on the doorstep of Asda (which makes shopping much more easier). However, I must stress that all the halls in Lansdowne are very close to each other, Dorchester is slightly further away but I am talking about a 5 minutes walk! I'd say all the halls in Lansdown are about a 2-7 minutes walk from each other.

I guess what I am trying to say is that they are both on par with each other! Have you tried tossing a coin?

It's completely down to you but if you want or need any more guidance feel free to message me!

    Good luck!
    Patricia
