psychology wider reading

i am currently an AS student hoping to continue psychology to degree, but before applying i want to have done some wider reading around the subject that i can put on my personal statement. can anyone recommend any books for me?

Instead of reading try doing an online course instead - it'll direct you towards relevant reading but also help you come to conclusions about what you've read (which is what your PS should be showing - an interest and excitement about your subject beyond the compulsory learning you do at school/college).
