iGCSE English Literature help!!!

Hi,
I'm doing the iGCSE literature course with CiE and really want an A but its very unlikely I will even get a B.
We are doing An Inspector Calls, Merchant of Venice, Jekyll and Hyde and then poetry. I find it really hard to write essay answers that are long enough to gain high marks or that even contain creditable content. I also find revising for literature very challenging but am determined to do well. If anyone is doing this course or has done this and has any revision advice or exam technique advice I would be very grateful.
