    hello anyone reading!!!
I want to study medicine in the future and my passion has gotten the better of me in the past few months
I have become so eager to al least try and see what is out there that is available for a YR11 student who wants to study medicine,
so my question is, what kind of volunteering is available for medical experience for 16yr olds?

personally when I was in year 11 I got a weeks job shadowing at a hospital in the elderly care unit. So try applying to hospitals and gp surgerys near you for any opportunities. I also started volunteering working with children for a charity which was seriously useful at my interview, as it improved my communication skills and showed I was dedicated, as well as just being a rewarding experience. So look in you area for long term volunteering opportunities, such as a care home.

    Best of luck!

Check out this page from the NHS website. It specifically mentions one company that promotes volunteering for anyone aged 16 - 35 called Volunteering Matters.

And this website (linked from this NHS site) called Do It, which specialises in volunteer work for 16+ year olds.

Also, we've got loads of free information about volunteering on our website. See it all here!

    Good luck
