    Hi I have just failed my first year (again) at Bath uni doing sociology. I really wanted to be a social researcher (I do still now, does anyone know how you can be one without a degree??? Or how else I could become one???

    I failed 1st year because I had social anxiety and depression. I worked much harder this year and I dont know how I got worse grades when I really put effort in.How does that even make sense :/

    Did you use your assignment feedback to inform your areas of development?

    Maybe take some time out and try to gain an entry level job in the sector. You will be able to work your way up to a point. If you later feel better suited to study then you will need to self-fund your first year before your tuition loan kicks in.

    Good point about working your way up. OP may be able to get a years funding back through extenuating circumstances though if s/he failed due to depression/anxiety which would give a full 3 years SF.
