Journey to becoming a physicist - year 11

My name is Ken, I'm 15 and in year 11, meaning I will be sitting exams in about 76 days :s-smilie:. In the future, I would like to be a physicist. My aim is to get great grades, and move one to do A levels in subjects I actually enjoy: Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry or Economics (yes, my life will be extremely tough). My dream is to go to Oxford in the future to study Physics, so in order to do so, it is vital that I get the best grades possible at GCSE and A level. I start my journey in year 11.

These are my targets, which means, they are the grades which will make me proud and happy on the 25th of August:

Edexcel Maths: A*
CIE English: A*
OCR Biology: A*
OCR Chemistry: A*
OCR Physics: A*
AQA French: A*
AQA B Geography: A*
Edexcel Physical Education: A*
Edexcel Religious Studies: A*
OCR FSMQ Additional Maths: A

I guess this is a lot to ask for, but I hope I can achieve these grades.

I'm in year 12 but I'll still watch the thread just to relive those GCSE moments

In 76 days, I would have completed my first exam by now... crikey. Anyways, I've given myself some targets to reach by the end of the half-term, so hopefully I'll get off of tsr, and get them done!
- Make a detailed study timetable for pre-exams and during exams.
- Prepare fully for my French Oral exam which is on Monday.
- Revise through the first three units of Biology Chemistry and Physics, and do a past paper for each of them to see where I am.
- Finish all my science flashcards.
- Boost my geography case study knowledge and do a past paper on unit 1.
- RE - Read through scripture passages and master keywords.
- Go through my English homework sheet.
- Practice some additional maths calculus and trigonometry questions.
- Generally make sure I'm up to date with everything I have learnt during the previous half-term.

I will share pictures of my revision etc. as it gets completed. Now time to go and get some work done and stop procrastinating!

Oxford is my dream. Apart from that, I'd really like to go to Imperial, Manchester, UCL or Durham too. But I'll make a more realistic decision nearer the time  Well done on getting those offers, that's awesome. Which one are you leaning towards?
If you want to be a physicist aim for an A* in the additional maths and don't worry so much about French, Geography, etc.

You can't get an A* in additional maths. It's equivalent to an AS.

Hey again wannabe Physicist buddy!

Sorry I didn't make it clear, an A is the highest grade possible in additional maths as it's not a GCSE, it's a FSMQ. But thanks for the advice; maths is gonna be a lot more important to me in terms of being a physicist compared to french and geography!
