Well, I would say I am quite career minded, in that I'm not going to leave university till I'm 25, and then going into a hellish training scheme which is very anti-family by nature. But yes, I do want children. Not right now, and probably not too soon after I graduate. But eventually (and not when I'm 45 or something!)

At 18 it isn't exactly something i have given a lot of thought to. I have decided I want to do my post grad or move abroad, live and travel.. so I guess that doesn't leave much time for kids... I think I'll settle for being a cool auntie!

Oh dear, I can never imagine myself having any kids, I am a very caring person, but I just generally don't like kids. Yes, they are cute, but then they can also be very annoying... but yeah, I guess if I be with the right guy, then we would have kids, but not for the next 10 years or so...

i'm going to go against the grain and say yes i definitely want kids. not now (!) and not soon, and i don't have a life plan set out or anything. but i know that i definitely want them. i don't know why really. it's funny how you've termed it 'urges'...

I have never wanted children, and made sure my boyfriend knows this just in case he did. I'm only 22 so yes I could change my mind but for now I never see myself wanting them.

There's a certain type of child-mad female out there, who seem to love the bloody things and have popping one out as basically their life's purpose in the long run.

They're usually a bit mad and best avoided.

most of the people saying no to having kids will so end up with kids :p:

I am moderately career minded, and there's so many other things i want to do before i start a family. But I have to say, there are some days where i feel such a strong urge to have a baby . But they only last a day or two then i get over it. It could just be hormones. And it didnt help that until a few weeks ago i had to walk past a nursery everyday on my way to uni.

Reply 13

nope i don't want them at all

I've thought about this quite a bit, I definitely want a kid or two. I reckon late 20s would be the best time for me, I don't really want to be in my 30s before I'm a dad.

Reply 15

I defo have the urge. But I will only have children after I am married, finacially stable and all that jazz in my late 20's preferably.

my boyfriend is like you, he said he wouldn't mind having children but it's not a MUST. i want just one baby. but it's not so much because I'm desperate to have a child, but i think he'd be the best father.. I'm not ready yet-still at uni, but prob in a few years time.. interesting thread btw!

I wont leave university till I'm 27

And then I'll probably do another year of training after that.

I used to be really against it, but these days i think i really do want kids, two, one of each gender to balance things out. However not for a while, I want to get my current degree sorted first and once thats over i'll review the situation again properly

Kids? No. Not now, not ever. I really hate small kids. They are just annoying little ****s. Say NO to children!
