    Hello Everyone!

Firstly- blogs are looking great- I hope they're helping you keep on track already

This is the first mini prize that we're running within Grow Your Grades :woo:

The Study Planner Competition is now OPEN FOR ENTRIES

We're looking for you guys to share your study plan- or make one if you don't have one.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is upload a picture/document/PDF etc of your own study plan IN THIS THREAD.

We'll be judging them based on this criteria:

    - How Smart is your plan?
AKA: It doesn't have to be chock a bloc with lots of revision we're not judging how much revision you're doing, just that you've thought about how much you should be doing and thought about when you'll be doing it.

    -Built around your actual life
We want to see that you've thought realistically about how you're revision is going to fit around your lifestyle- That you've factored in enough time for each exam and also your social life etc.

    - Creative
We'll be looking for ways you've added extra detail onto your plan- like colour coordination or pictures.

    - Detailed
If you have lots of information about what you plan of leaning in each revision session then that would be looked upon favorably

Overall, it's up to you how you present it- after all it's your study planner and should work for you! However we do want to see at least a two week plan. If you don't already have a study planner created- you can use the TSR study planner here.

You have until the 17th March to get your entry in. Winner will be announced on the 18th.

    Winner gets:

    :yay:£35 Amazon Voucher :yay:

    Just so you know...
This is only open to Grow Your Grades entrants- your entry will not be counted if you don't have a blog... however you don't have to join in with this if you don't want to.

This will not affect your chances of winning the main prize.

You can only have one entry.

    Grow Your Grades babes
I've done my study plans and I'm actually sticking to them this time! I uploaded photos onto my blog. I found The Chimp Paradox really helpful in writing it. I'm one of those people who get really freaked out about coursework/exams to the point of paralysis and severe anxiety and this has helped me keep a good balance. When I did my A Levels I was totally work work work and didn't take any time out because I didn't see the value and I ended up burning out at university. In the long run, taking breaks and making tim for happiness is going to benefit your studies when done responsibly.

I really like the distinction between immediate pleasures (having a hot chocolate) and delayed pleasures (going to the cinema). The delayed pleasures are a key factor in my reward system because they're specific to me and I have some mini-goal in mind that I like rather than 'coursework'. If anyone gets anxious etc. then definitely give The Chimp Paradox a read. I found it through Ronnie O'Sullivan, the author is a sports psychologist for people like Sir Chris Hoy, but I wish I found it sooner!!!

1 entry? I thought this'd be much more popular... :giggle:

Here's my entry, Tank Girl :fluffy:

I made it on Microsoft Publisher in order to make it neat and professional looking, allowing me to print off a standard template and add colour and notes as I desired - I find this much more motivating than having one online as I'm a visual learner and love the feel of paper. It's been really fun to make (aren't I sad?) :awesome:
The best part is I can print a new one off each week and change all of my revision plans easily!

    Key/code:
    • Lighter shades = lesson, darker shades = revision/study time. Colour coordinated so I can easily see how much I've planned per subject (e.g. Light green and dark green are Biology).
    • Boxes with diagonal lines in are times I have a commitment (due to my lack of job etc. these are basically all lessons!). My two roles as a young carer and Students' Union president mean that I don't have shifts but I do have to change my schedule quite often. I've added 3 hours worth of last minute catch up at the weekend to ensure I don't miss out on planned revision!
    • Boxes with dots in are times I've planned revision.
    • For each revision/study session I've added in a rough guide of what I'd like to cover. During the week I add to a list of tasks that need doing and then I complete the relevant ones in each session.
    • Revision session durations are based on Pomodoros (25 minutes, 50 minutes or 90 minutes), which is how I study. There's a post on my blog explaining this :yep:

Here is my study planner for the last two weeks
It's largely based around my life at University and although I'm focusing on just completing as many past papers as possible (for practice and technique) it's been really useful in helping me with my time management as well as keeping track of everything I have to do each day.
I have also downloaded the app: "life organiser" and have found that even the free version is proving to be a life saver. I STRONGLY recommend it.

I used google sheets to create these schedules. I chose to create them online because the fonts and format make it look much more official that if I had done it by hand. This in turn makes me more motivated to follow it and not go off schedule. Also google sheets provides a base template for a schedule which means I can easily reproduce it on a weekly basis.

    Here is my entry!
Hey! I have included my study planner for the next two weeks (the first week is the week commencing 28/03). I have chosen to start from next week because I have decided to start over all my revision again (from Unit 1s) in that week because I should have all of my mock results by then, and should be able to focus revision on topics I need to improve on. Also, my studying will increase over time, but I've decided to give myself a bit more spare time during Easter before the intensity of next term!

    On my study planner I have wrote each subject and what I'll be doing for it in different coloured pens;
    Light Purple - English Lit
    Dark Purple - Spanish
    Dark Green - Biology
    Orange - Chemistry
    Light Blue - Physics
    Dark Blue - History
    Red - Philosophy and Ethics

I don't have any maths factored in because my study planner focuses on work that I am NOT doing at school, I have an hour after school for Maths on Tuesdays, and 20 minutes in the morning of Thursdays and Fridays, Maths will be factored in at a later date. I have also added into my schedule the sort of topics I wish to revise in that area, with the main focus of areas I struggle with (for example in Biology 'B1 - Human Biology' will be more focused on the nervous system opposed to fighting disease, because that is what I don't understand as well as fighting disease!).

On Mondays I have badminton so I will start my revision sooner so I can go to badminton. Somewhat related to this, I haven't wrote down properly what times I will do revision just yet, this is because I do not like to study in accordance to a strict schedule, and I feel it makes me procrastinate (I also have coursework that is due in and I don't know how long that will take me). However come closer to the exams, I will have time scheduled in for each session. I revise in a variety of ways, such as:
    • Copying up notes
    • Revision Cards
    • Posters
    • Past exam papers
    • And many more ways!
Without further ado, here is my study plan for the next two weeks!

Also, from now on, on Monday (or Sunday) I'll be posting a picture of my revision schedule for that week coming! I thought that would be a cool and interesting idea!
