# First year marks watch

1. So got my results last week and pretty disappointed with them, averaged 58.2% in exams alone and with other assessments I think I have 60.7% for the first half of this year. 2:1 at least I guess but I need 70% if I want a competitive application for the year in industry that my uni does. I don't intend to apply to GSK and the like but right now they wouldn't even spit at my application lel. This year doesn't count towards my degree but can someone kindly work out how much I need to average in my summer exams (of which there are three) to bump that up to 68-70%? The exams are worth about 80% of the unit overall if that helps.

Numbers aren't my strong point so I appreciate any help, thanks.
2. I *might* be wrong but I think you would need 73% in the rest of your exams.

I did the sum of two means

(20*60 + 80x) / 100 = 70

80x = 70*100-1200

80x = 5800

x = 72.5%

That makes sense, thanks so much! Thankfully my units this term are easier so that should be doable if I work hard.
