Success stories of approaching/flirting while at Uni? Where/how to meet matches watch

Hello, hoping I can get some advice and hear some success stories about meeting/approaching people while at uni?

I'm a 21 year old guy and I'm interested in dating again after been single for the past few months. I think I'm a fairly attractive guy, may not be a model but certainly not unattractive. my problem is I find it almost impossible to meet girls or find situations where interacting with new people is possible? Online dating isn't really for me as I prefer to connect with people in person, but aside from the limited amount of people in my class there doesn't really seem to be much opportunities to meet potential matches.

I'v tried joining different societies at my university to meet people from other courses but that doesn't really work either. Most societies have hundreds of members when in reality only about 5 to 10 people bother to show up for events.

I'd really appreciate some advice on meeting/approaching girls in random settings (coffee shops, libraries, walking etc) Girls, how are you most comfortable being approached by guys who arent on the same course?

Anyone have any experienced approaching/being approached in a bar?

Don't discount online dating - it's a great way to meet people with similar interests to you and skip the part where you meet lots of random people who aren't compatible. Then, when you've found potential suitable matches, you meet up with them and get them know them in person!

I found house parties were always a good way to meet people, a lot more comfortable a setting than a bar, club, etc. So if you can find any of those..!

As for meeting random people in public places, it's a lot more difficult. In libraries most people are there to, y'know, do their work. In coffee shops you may have a better chance but again, it looks a little bit forced. Walking, no idea. Try it, good luck

Online dating, seriously. Being approached somewhere is something I find really awkward and mostly terrible, so I don't do it either.

I've had some pretty great dates with guys I've found online. Currently dating someone from Tinder so...
