hello, so a car is being given to me by a family member and the logbook is still in their name. He is dropping the car off to my house tomorrow, and I want to insure it tomorrow so I can drive it asap.... am I able to insure and tax the car even if im not the registered keeper yet, until I send off the logbook???

Yes, you can tax the vehicle using the V5C/2 - the person who is dropping off the car should give this to you. Insurance is actually easier and you should be able to arrange this now.

You don't need to be the registered keeper to insure a car.
