What are some qualities that a university might look favourably on in a course transf watch

    • Thread Starter

Good morning guys,I am currently studying International Studies/Journalism at University in Australia! Anyways, I really wanted to do International Studies/Law at the same university but didn't get the score in high school (Family and financial problems made school really difficult - but that's all over now). Okay, so I need a WAM of 75 to do the course transfer, I am sitting on 81 atm.I told my course advisor the other day and she gave me a form to fill out so I can transfer. Now, the last part of the form is a personal statement. Do you guys have any idea of some qualities that a course advisor would see and think "Wow, this guys really deserves to study law". And should I mention that the reason I didn't get the score in the first place was due to the issues I had in 2014? I still have the ATAR special consideration form (which I filled out to let universities know that I was struggling).Any help would be appreciated :3

The is a UK forum so people on here are unlikely to be familiar with Australian uni processes. Generally, I'd say focus on positive things in your application such as your interest in the subject, why you want to study it, what relevant skills and experience you have and what your career plans are. Let your referee mention your problems.
