Should I pick a uni so I can move out?

I want to go to Manchester instead of Imperial because I want to move out (I live in London and my parents won't let me move out if i can commute).
I don't want to go to Bath/Queen's Belfast because they're way too far away.

But I think I'm capable of getting A*AA which is what the top ones want but Manchester ask for AAA so i kind of think i'm not going to a uni that's asking for my full potential. Manchester's still good  what do you think about my decision? or what do you think a good decision would be for me?

Here's the league table:

Just to say, Bath is closer than Manchester. A couple of hours along the M4.

Don't base your choice on league tables. They don't measure the things that matter to undergraduates and they change every year. The one that would matter to you would be for the year you graduated in any case, and you don't have a crystal ball.

Don't equate difficulty of offer with value of course. It really isn't that simple.

Don't forget you have five choices. Putting down all high risk applications is a very risky policy.
Just be assertive with your parents and move out.
Don't miss out on going to one of the Top 2/3 engineering departments in the country, Imperial, because you're scared to move out. Just move out.
Go to the university where you think you will be happiest.

If you want to go to Imperial, then go to Imperial. Your parents don't get to dictate this sort of thing any more - you're an adult, and one of the things about being an adult is learning when to say "no" to your parents. Imperial will guarantee you a place in halls, happily enough, even though you live in London, so long as you firm them https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/campus-life/accommodation/prospective/ug/how-to-apply/accommodation-guarantee/

If you want to go to Manchester, then go to Manchester - they will also guarantee you a place in halls whether you're firm or insurance (and it will be a lot cheaper...)

However, what I will note is that Bath is actually closer to London than Manchester - geographically closer, and about the same time on the train (2 hours)
