Now i just need to start getting in orders.

You don't just want likes on Facebook - get your friends to share the page as well!!! Then if their friends like it, they could share it too!!!

If you're wanting to advertise in your local area, try putting an ad in your local paper, hand out flyers to the public...!

Firstly you advertise through word of mouth, so that is you literally telling people you know about it and getting them to tr your cakes.

That way, these people can tell other people and so on.

After that then you can think about advertising online or on billboards or leaflets.

Ask your friends to spread the word and recommend you when someone needs a cake.
Get an instagram page started and get your friends to follow you. Having attractive cakes can make people want to buy from you

Have you tried to use flyers, leaflets, lapel pins etc? Check out http://www.pinsource.com/en/products/embossed_enamel . These guys will suggest you a specific design and produce a good quality promotional product at a reasonable price for you. It could be done in a shape of a cake, for example. Good luck!
