A simple trigs question has been bugging me.It is the following: solve cot^2θ -8tanθ=0

apparently the solutions are only 26.6, 206.6 , however i think their should be 3 more solutions: 0,180,360. The reason i say this is because if you factor out tanθ you will have tanθ=0 and 1/tan^3θ =8. The tanθ=0 will give the solutions 0,180 and 360. What are your thoughts? Thanks for any input.

Try substituting 0, 180, 360 into the original equation. You'll see that they can't be solutions.

Can you post working to show how you've factorised the equation? I don't fully understand what you've done.

Cotθ is undefined when sinθ = 0.
