Ow, blister

Anybody got any good quick cures for blisters, i'm so tempted to plaster them up, but people tell me not to cos they will heal quicker only thing is they are made worse before they get the chance to heal cos they are from my new dance shoes and i dance 2/3 times a week not including event evenings. My big toe is sooo sore, two different blisters from different shoes with less that a millimetre distance between them.
Pop the buggers and then wrap them up. Might take longer to heal but they won't hurt as much.

And next time try wearing comfy shoes!
Just some guy

oh noes, don't pop them, that serious canes.

I always put a band-aid on them (whilst wearing shoes) and some like general antiseptic cream can assist with the healing. But when you're at home, walking round with no shoes, allow that time for them to be uncovered so they'll heal.
And even once they have healed, continue to cover them up when you're wearing the evil shoes to prevent it happening again, until you have 'worn in' those shoes.
Put compeed blister plaster on them, you get them from boots, they're great as they act like a second skin by taking the pressure off the affected area. They are waterproof and seal the area preventing infection. Then they simply drop off when the skin underneath has healed. They saved me a lot of pain on my D of E gold.

Whatever you do don't burst them! It is just as painful and there is less protection. If you keep walking on them you will wear holes in your feet and you risk them getting infected, both are more painful and will take longer to heal.

No no don't 'pop' them , what you do is take a sterlised needle and 'drain ' them, i.e. you stick the needle in, without obviously hurting yourself, and let the liquid drain out of the blister. Then if you wish put a plaster on it, take it from me this does not end up hurting you it just makes things so much better! I once had huge blisters covering the heels of my feet and this is what i did, the pain was gone in seconds.
lance em with a clean pin
clean the wound and surrouinding area
leave to air dry for a couple of minutes
apply compeed plaster
apply zinc oxide tape
coat zinc oxide tape with foot talc

job done, works everytime, guaranteed

I personally cut mine off- but anyone with any sense would not do this!

The sensible option is to wear comfortable shoes until they heal.
Whenever I've had blisters, I've done the above and drained them. I don't stick a plaster on them at first though, it's good to give them some air so they dry out and harden up a bit.
Yeah do as the above posters have said and drain them - I had a blood blister on Friday - bloody killed untill I drained it!
