Hi there, I will be starting my music degree this year at a place called ACM in Guildford. I have created a letter to apply for grants to other sources and wondered if anyone has done the same kind of thing before and what the result was. These sources are charitable trusts aimed at musicians mainly and they help by providing funding towards tuition fees (Student finance will only cover about 75%), maintainance money and funding towards equipment such as new guitars etc.

My letter was pretty professional and haven't heard back yet but thought it would be cool to see if anyone actually managed to get a good result, i.e a new guitar or a £1000 towards living costs etc.

Do you agree with the PM's proposal to cut tuition fees for some courses?
