    Introduce driving re-tests for drivers 70 years of age or older.

    BE IT ENACTED by The Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Commons in this present Parliament assembled, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

    1) Driving Re-Tests
    a) Once a qualified driver reaches the age of 70, his driving license will be suspended, and he will have to take a re-test should he wish to renew his driving license.
    b) If the driver passes the driving re-test, he will receive a new driving license that expires after five years.
    c) If a driving license has expired, a driver will need to take a re-test if he wants to receive a valid driving license.
    d) All driving licenses issued to drivers over the age of 70 shall be valid for a period of five years only from the date of issue.
    e) If the driver fails the driving re-test, he will not be qualified to drive until he passes the re-test.

    2) Drivers Exempt From Re-Tests
    a) Drivers who have passed a driving test any time from three years before their 70th birthday until their 70th birthday will be exempt from Part 1(a).

    3) Commencement, Short Title, Extent
    a) This bill will come into effect 60 days after royal assent.
    b) This bill may be cited as the Driving Reform Act 2016.
    c) This bill will apply to the whole of the United Kingdom.

    It's a 6 line bill, it's not like it's the most difficult of comparisons. Mainly it's a retest required every time you get a new licence with over 70s licences only lasting 5 years

    I will support this as a step in the right direction. I would like to see re-tests every 10 years or so at least for all age groups under this.

    You need a new licence you need a new licence. Does this mean that you believe that my old passport is still valid because it's merely a picture change?
