I want to take a gap year but..

As the title reads, after my A'levels I'd really like to take a gap year but I feel as if I will regret it later.
I'm not sure if this will be a good idea for a medical student to do so - or is it me over thinking things?
I don't think anyone ever regrets not going to work too quick enough. Its the big life experiences like travelling etc that people regret not doing. I don't know about medicine specifically but I don't see why it would disadvantage you, I thought you could defer entry (but you'd need to check).

Oh I've never heard of 'deferred entry' before, do you get a choice when applying for the course?

And thank you! I know and that's why I'd like to take a gap year, I want to take a slight break.

I took a gap year before I applied for med school and it turned out fine for me!

If you're worried about forgetting things, don't be. You do to a degree but it comes back very quickly and doesn't hamper you at all.
