Hi! I have received offers for both LSE PPE and UCL ESPS. Obviously I am overly exited and extremely happy I get to choose between these two great unis. Nevertheless I feel like I have never had to take a harder decision.

On one side, it seams to me that LSE has the upper hand when it comes to academic reputation and employability. Plus PPE interests me a bit more than european social and political studies.

On the other side, I am quite a sociable guy that likes to go out and have a blast. Having a blast isn't my primary motivation but it also isn't what pops to my mind when thinking about LSE. UCL appears to be more fun all round and you might not be chained to your desk 24/7.

Hopefully someone can ease my decision in giving me their opinion on the matter! Thank you so much for even reading this!

Also I am half german half french if that is of interest!

I think it all depends what you want to do after uni. But I don't agree that LSE has the upper hand in terms of academic reputation or employability. ESPS students can follow a very PPE-like structure but with added bonus of a language and a year abroad (which employers value highly), or they can branch out and study completely new things that LSE doesn't do. What is your chosen language and specialism?

Thank you for yours response! I agree that the benefit of learning an extra language and studying abroad is one to consider. I would be studying spanish with full economics specialism.

For economics, LSE=UCL, there really is no difference.

I'm at LSE and there's definitely a good social side to it! I wouldn't let that stop you from coming.

Thanks!! I have almost made up my mind and will probably be going to LSE simply because the course interests me more than ESPS.
