Hi, I could really do with some advice from girls who, like me, often have to travel between their boyfriends house/ work/ stay out late and have to take their pill with them.
Basically, I am anxious about keeping my pill (microgynon) at the correct temperature. It should be kept at room temperature. However, I have to travel between uni, home, bf's house and work every day so it always has to come with me in my bag. I drive, but this makes the problem worse. It's very very cold in the car at the moment and then when I put the heaters on, I struggle to find a place for my bag where the heaters don't seem to directly hit it and make it hot! I carry my bag around with me at uni but this again makes me worry that I might accidentally lean it against a radiator or something. I have asked the doctor this question a few times and have been made to feel even worse. They always treat me in a very patronising manner and pretty much said I should be leaving it safely in a drawer but that is not possible with my lifestyle! I have OCD so of course I do over worry, but they SAID it can be affected if not at room temp! I have no idea what I will do come summer when it's boiling in the car and classroom. I would switch methods of contraception but I tried before and they didn't work out for me. My mum works in a hospital and she says that unless I literally put the pills in the oven they'd be fine. But then why would the doctors tell me in the first place

In practice, what you're doing isn't going to make any difference. Being colder than 'room temperature' isn't going to be a problem, and having things be a bit warmer for a while isn't going to be a problem either - the instructions are talking about leaving it somewhere hot for months, not minutes.
But you're worried, so have you considered having them in something insulated to reduce any changes in temperature?
