Hey, I am at the moment taking a gap year after a levels and received 4 A ( bio, chem, maths, chinese) and A* in EPQ. I would like to be like Awesome Genius and be rich. ( He's such an inspiration )

I would like seek what kind of career options I should go into based on my a levels. I heard investment banking can earn you lots. ( I am willing to sell my soul, not my body) I've researched about it and I quite liked it. What kind of course should I get into for uni?

Aim for a target (ideally) or semi-target. Targets are: Oxbridge, Warwick, LSE, UCL and Imperial. Semi-targets are: Bristol, Durham, Nottingham, Bath; then the likes of: Manchester, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Birmingham, KCL and some other strong RG unis.

Subject choice should be something you see yourself studying for 3+ years, doesn't need to be relevant to finance - within reason: no gender studies or underwater basket weaving. If you're interested in the more quantitative areas of finance Maths/CompSci/Physics/Engineering or a combo are good shouts but again, just choose a course you prefer, as you'll be trained by the bank anyway.

Being rich is a good aim, but you're going to need to enjoy (or at least tolerate) what you do to get there.

Just do what you enjoy and you'll earn a lot of money. No need to go into banking and finance to earn a lot of money.
