    Hi!
I am deciding on which uni to choose to study at and am coming to realise the fact that I probably will have to move away from home.
This idea seems really scary because I have never actually had to live and manage everything by myself before and this unknown is really freaking me out... :/
So I was wondering if you could tell me how you're managing with everything and what it was like finding a place to live and stuff.

It helps a lot if you learn to do things before you move out. Get a parent or sibling to teach you to cook- can just be basic things like boiling pasta, frying a burger, spaghetti bolognaise until you are comfortable using hobs & the oven. Get someone to show you how to use the washing machine. And help out with the housework. Will take away some of the unknowns when you move away.

As far as finding a place to live, in first year its usually pretty straightforward as most people go into halls. You just decide what type of room you want/can afford and apply accordingly and hope you get one of your top choices. It does get more complicated if you don't get an offer of accommodation- this is normally more common when you miss your firm offer and go to your insurance. If you have specific questions then post in the forum of the university you firm when you've made your choices and current students at the university should be able to give reviews.on the halls.
