I was reading A2 Edexcel Physics Revision Guide, and I found a sentence really weird on p.23. Can somebody explain it to me?

"In the graph of Q against V for a capacitor under charge, the potential difference the charge moves through decreases as the charge on the plates of the capacitor increases."

    I thought Q\propto V?

That sentence is correct, as charges, e.g electrons, flow onto one of the capacitor plates, that plate becomes more negative. Therefore the potential difference between this plate, now slightly negative, and the negative terminal of the battery or cell is less.
I think the potential difference across the capacitor plates itself is proportional to the charge on the plates
