Thank you all for the advice and I'm hoping to apply for cambridge...maybe queen's- it look very pretty but is it any good for classics?
Have a look at the DoS for Classics there. Google for them and see if they're any good if you must but to be honest since teaching is university based it really won't matter at all.

I studied science at New Hall, and, tbh, I would suggest you consider Sidney Sussex, Newnham (if you're female), Clare and Trinity. Girton is also supposed to be good for Classics, but I'm not sure how important location is to you! Peterhouse is the arty College, so you might approach them too. Don't misunderstand, Queen's is a great College, but I've not heard much about their Classics department...
I might have a look at Girton though...I've heard it's really pretty....
My careers adviser has suggested one of the girl's colleges as she says it's statistically easier to get in there.... but I've been at an all-girl's school for the last 6 years and am not sure if I could hack being at an all- girl's college for the next three or four years. Not that I have anything against girls per se but it might be nice to have a change....waht do you reckon?
Because of pooling, it doesn't really make much difference where you apply. The girls colleges may have less applicants, but you're still considered against people who applied to other colleges.

Girton is awesome- prob my favourite College (other than my own, obviously!).
I know lots of people think it's easier to get into New Hall or Newnham, but, in my year, there was only a 16% success rate with New Hall, compared with the University average of 26%, or the subject specific of 33%. You might want to think about that- had I known, I'd have applied for an easier College, but it all worked out in the end I wouldn't worry about the reputation single sex Colleges have. No, we're not lesbians, yes, we have men staying over, and, yes, on one night when there was a fire drill, there were as many men outside as women! Also, New Hall is right next to Fitzwilliam and St Ed's and Newnham is next to Queen's and Selwyn. Ergo, it's fine! You also don't have to worry about shaving your legs or walking around in your dressing gown! LOL!
tomasjtl: yoda is baiting people, and consie is pretending to rise to the bait to mock him in return. Get a sense of humour if you're gonna try to join in.
Having followed advice I looked on the Girton website but why for Classics at all colleges do they make you have another interview at a different college? Do you get a cboice or is it random?

They give you another College. It's supposed to be fairer that way.

Out of interest why those ones? I applied to Clare originally but that was mainly because I liked the college as opposed to any rep for classics as majority of teaching seems to be in faculty/ shared out around the univeristy anyway.

I've heard really good things about the tutors at Clare. Apparently, they're among the best. Don't worry, though, New Hall rocks and the Classics guy there is a sweetie! Just feel glad you're at an (almost) stress free College!

Dyu mean Mr Basso? I had an interview with him, he was really nice especially when I made some idiotic comments! The tutors at Clare were really nice too, shame I made extraordinarily idiotic comments in those interviews!

Nooooooo, be glad- you wouldn't be going to New Hall otherwise
