I would say I'm an organised person and when i actually start my homework I get through it quickly but I have a problem starting. I've tried writing to do lists but I always end up spending ages on them and then have hardly any time for actual work. Probably the main problem is i get distracted by my phone but i mostly just leave that outside my room. I want to get out of this habit before i start my serious work. Does anyone have some tips on how to get motivated to do homework?

It sounds like to do lists aren't working out for you (making them anyway) - perhaps mental to do lists, or just very, very short, basic ones on your phone/paper/sticky notes/desktop may be a good idea?

Also, you could try incentivising yourself by setting up some kind of reward after doing your homework - like 1 hour of reading or playing games or exercise or whatever you do for fun.

Once you get a routine going, like starting and finishing work at a certain time, you should be fine.
