I can't decide if I should study Business Management or business marketing I'm currently studying Business at College but I'm unsure which Job I want to go into in the future? Anyone know which Businesses courses are most useful in the market at the minute when looking for Jobs

Hey Becca,

Have you done any marketing modules as part of your current course?

With a business management course you usually have the option in year 2 or 3 to focus on particular area i.e. marketing, HR or entrepreneurship. Whereas with business marketing that will be your core focus.

If you are really concerned about the career prospects look in to courses which over a placement year / year in industry, that will give you some great experience

Hi Becca
What universities are you looking to go to? I study business management at newman university and was confused about where I want to go. The university has really supported me to narrow down and think about where I want to do work placement. We were given a task to research and found those that have a business related degree specialist or not get a job quicker than most other degrees. I think it does come back down to the fact that business is a part of everything we do which is what really got me interested in this course.
Also Marketing is where I want to go and we have had some marketing relating work and now a module as part of the course. So it's up to you, I am looking at later on specialising in marketing once I have done my degree. Our careers service is what helped me to clear my head and think about what I want.
