What exactly do you owe your alliegence to? Arbitrary boarders?

It's a way the government is able to control the masses just like they did with religion. People have been seeing through the facade of religion now. It's time to start seeing through the facade of nationalism and patriotism!

Well, at least you're consistent. The number of people who condemn patriotism but think that religion should be respected is quite mindboggling.

Strong views, but I can see where you're coming from. The title of my History coursework this year is actually "towhat extent was nationalism the main cause of World War One?”. A lot of the stuff I'm reading really does make me question why people get so pent up over very minor parts of their nationalities.

Well, yeah, everyone knows nationality is an artificial contruct. The divide between people you know and humanity as whole is the only meaningful one.

I never understand how people could have allegiance to somethig that they had no choice over (eg. race, country of birth, religion spoonfed to them by their parents), even to extent they would kill in the name of it.
