This question has been asked and answered sooooo many times!
College card : college ID, room key, works as a debit card for college shop/dining room purchases blah blah blah.
SU card : NUS card used to get into the Union and bars and discounts in high street shops and stuff.

So do you have to have an NUS card to get in to the union?

You need your SU card, the only other way to get in is for someone else who has an SU card to sign you in, which is a pain as there are always huge queues, and it costs money. Plus without an SU card you can't join any clubs or societies. It is highly recommended that everyone gets one

oh yeah, the college card cost £50 to activate, how much is the SU/NUS caard?

Haha I was wrong on the college card front, so let's try with this one.

NUS card is free, but it's £10 to get the NUS extra card. The latter gives you discounts, but in my opinion it's not worth paying more.
It's the activities membership (insurance) on your SU card that costs £10 or £25 depending on how many years you want to use it for. It's a little sticker that goes on the back and lets you join clubs / societies. NUS extra does seem pretty pointless.
Getting the 3 year insurance is definitely worth it as they keep hiking the prices up - it only cost 15quid when I got mine 2 years ago.

hang on hang on.

membership insurance? what does this cover?
Reply 108
It's Endleigh insurance should anything happen to you while at a society. for instance if u were playing football, broke your ankle and needed physio etc
Reply 109
really? is it like the one you'd pay loads for to be covered for laptop theft etc or is it just injury?
Reply 110
just injury.
mmm from a accident prone person i think £25 for three years sounds very reasonable
Reply 112
hold on how do you get a SU card?

Do the new halls have a television aerial outlet or do we have to use a table top aerial?
for the su card there'll be a marquee outside the su. you need to bring a passport photo with you, and maybe id, but i can't remember =/

which flats in kingswood II are single sex?

I believe you need your college card to pick up your SU card, so remember that.

The SU NUS card gets you discount at any shop that says STUDENT DISCOUNT. The NUS EXTRA card gets you discount at any shops that use the NUS EXTRA scheme.
I have just heard some upsetting news - Crosslands has been changed into some sort of wine bar! No pool table, no jukebox, no shabby decor..... and worst of all.... NO WEDGES
