Crosslands was a bar in Founders, it severed cocktail jugs, baked potatos, wedge, had a jukebox and a pool table, and it has now apparently been converted into a wine bar type thing. I will investigate when I'm back in the area!

No idea where you get RCS cards from, think I might have got mine from the picture gallery in Founders?

SU card is free, insurance (which you need) is £10 for one year or £25 for 3.

Very few places on campus accept debit cards, but there is a natwest right outside Founders with free-to-use cash machines (the union and medicine cash points will charge you), best just to get cash out from there!
I hope that Crosslands rumour is not true, I spent virtually the whole of my first year in there. :frown:

It has indeed been converted for £120,000. It looks like a bar at Terminal Five. It looks cool but not studenty.
Disappointing and what a waste of money. :frown:
Omg that sounds so sexy...

There's quite enough "rustic charm" at Royal Holloway (lol, there's one for the student union to use), we need something modern and sleek!

Roll with the times, baby!
Medicine is already modern and sleek, Crosslands' rustic charm was what attracted people to it.

I'll be honest, I'm one of those people that felt Crosslands needed modernising, but could understand it's charm otherwise. Can't wait to see it.
Maybe it could've done with a bit of sprucing up, but I don't think it really needed a complete overhaul! Although I guess I must wait and see it for myself...
I've got this image of all the freshers who don't know the old Xlands sitting down having a drink, while all the rest of us are peering round the door with a look of suspicion and envy.
Does anyone know how much The Hub is a night? As I'm living at home, I kinda feel like I'm missing out on the nightlife, thanks to the early stopping of trains into London.

Also, does anyone know how easy it is to change course? My lecturer has already made my course sound dull and scary!

Technically they are meant to rent a room in the hub or off campus but unless their visit is on the same day as a room check nobody will know

You will learn to love Crosslands and its horrible decorum. For Freshers, it becomes a second home.
