    Hey,

So I'm really struggling with one question on Enthalpy. It asks:

When 1 g of propane, C3H8 (Calor gas), is burned completely, 50 kJ are transferred. What value does this give for the standard enthalpy of combustion of propane?

I know the answer is -2200 but I have no idea how to get that answer, the question just doesn't seem to give you enough information to answer the question.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

The question tells you that 50KJ per 1 gram is transferred. The Standard Enthalpy is the energy transferred per mole. 1 mole of propane has a mass of 44 grams. So multiply 50 by 44. remember the units will be KJ per mole!

Thank you so much, I'm not sure how I missed that!
