Taking the biscuit

I am currently doing temp work and a girl there keeps asking me what hours I would like to do then decides them for me and they are crap. Other temps who have been and gone have said to me they are just doing 8.30-4.30 and have said they aren't bothering to ask. I don't see why I should start later when my work is irrelevant to this girl - people are always in the office to make sure no lurkers are around. She was checking the time earlier on her computer to make sure we are not leaving early. Just annoyed as she is not the supervisor. Should I just do what the others have done as leaving work later means longer journey times on the way home.
Eh? What time are you working in relation to them?

Everyone else starts before 9 but I get given 9 or 9.30. Annoys me as she isn't the supervisor and others come in when they like.

Sounds like you are a pushover. I would just turn up when the others do. Sounds like she wants to be authoritative when she is not.

I agree. What can she really do about it?

If she's not the supervisor, what difference does it make if she checks what time you start/finish work?

Is she your line manager? If so, you'll just have to deal with it, I'm afraid. If not, speak to your line manager.

You cant just do things off your own bat. You need to speak to whoever is in charge and clarify the situation.

Can't you just say to her.. 'I'd like to come in a bit earlier instead, if that's OK'.. if she says no, then say 'Why?'
