ok so we have 4 hours of lessons with our subject appropriate teachers a week, in addition to that we get 2 hours with a non specific subject teacher with which we can use to 'bounce' ideas off of... we call these two hours 'supported study.' These supported studies are supposed to be with our peers that are in our specific lessons with work that has been set, however a lot of our supported study sessions have peers in them that are totally unrelated and therefore the system fails, my question is, does anybody have anything like this, and if so how is it done for you?

We don't have this...It sounds a bit like a waste of time to me. A lot of students (in my college at least) would take this as a 'free lesson' and do nothing or mess around. Just take the time to get some of your homework done or get your notes organised. I wouldn't stress over it.
