    Hi,

I'm not sure if you mean in terms of offers given out, or you mean if people drop a grade on results day.

The usual offers are AAB for Chemical Engineering BEng and AAA for Chemical Engineering MEng. However, applications are looked at individually and take into consideration thefull UCAS application including predicted grades, personal statement andreference as well as any extenuating circumstances. Some people may get a lower offer due to any combination of those reasons, on a case by case basis.

And if you've got an offer, but drop a grade when results day rolls around? All applicants who narrowly miss the conditions of their offer are reconsidered again together when the results are published in August. Whether we are able to accept near miss students depends on the number of applicants who have met the conditions of their offers and the number of places we have available on our programmes - usually the MEng course has to be stricter with capacity issues. Preference is given to those who have committed to us as their firm choice.

Hope that answers your questions for the Newcastle side of things
