    Hi mollysnailwoooo,

Personally, it was very easy to meet new people! Because most people are in the same situation as you, (in a new city/don't know any one), everyone is open and willing to make friends, so very friendly and nice!

The main people I talked to/made friends with in first year were people who lived in my halls of residences (flatmates/neighbours), as well as course mates (who I went to lectures/seminars with), and then some of their friends/flatmates. I personally didn't join a society for long enough to make solid friends, but I do know people who joined societies who made close friends with other people in the societies.

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions

    Thanks,

    Ellen
