    Students who achieve a B in A-level maths today would only have secured an E in the 1960s, suggests research.

    This is why Gove and his successors have had to make the changes they've done (which have been rushed).

    Mind you, maths is still one of the hardest 4/5 A-levels so what that says about the rest of them....
