If you think smart during the exam, this is by reading the questions in extreme depth, will it help? (Not just that, but other "smart things")

I don't really understand what you mean, but don't try being over smart and over analyse the question like I do. Like some answers for physics are really easy and I just over analyse the question and give a long un-related detailed answer.
However there is a difference, if you think you are 'smart' you can do anything. I was learning in sociology how some sociologist made a group of kids do a fake IQ test. They were then told that they were one of the smartest kids alive and blah after the IQ test. Once they started going back to school, they were achieving way better results than their normal results. (I forgot who found this out but it's true).

Yeahhhhhhhh if you believe you achieve

But yeah it does help, a lot of the time there are clues in the question / in other questions (intended or not) which you just need to think smart to see I guess. Sometimes there are science questions that seem crazy but when you think it through from a non-scientific point of view, it's kind of common knowledge. I find this mainly for geography in the human topics, alot of the answers you can guess correctly because they're common knowledge.

What are you on about? Many people who aren't smart just learn mark schemes and exam technique.

I mean, do you think understanding the question makes it easier for you to answer the question? I don't know how to put it into words, hopefully you understand what i'm trying to say
