Heya guys I'm in year 12 doing biology chemistry and economics, only got DDD in my mocks and really want to accounting and finance. I believe I may be able to get BBB but the requirement is ABB. Do unis drop their requirements or should I prehaps do something else

I'll reference from my own experience. I failed my first year of college and left with 3 AS levels all at grade E, this only gave me 90 UCAS points. I then went on to study AAT level3, equivalent to 130+ UCAS points (I cant remember the exact amount). ANYWAY! I emailed the tutors/organised a face to face meeting to speak to the tutors to explain my situation as my UCAS was still lower than what the universities were requesting.

In the end, I had offers from 4 out of 5 of my universities. So yes, they can allow people who do not meet requirements. However going off my experience I felt that having that face to face meeting or emailing the tutor personally probably helped as it showed I was taking the initiative to get a place if that makes sense?
Although your grades make up a large proportion of the probability of you being accepted into a university, I think that showing how much you are willing to do to achieve what you want (i.e. a university place/a degree) is a big indicator on whether or not the tutor lets you join the course.

If I were you, I'd try and organise a meeting with the tutors or ask if you can call them at some point to discuss the situation, hopefully they will take a shine to you and make an acception!

    good luck!
