Hey, I've decided to do my extended essay on English (literature) and i have no clue what to do it on and getting some advice on here seemed like the best idea 😌

Pleeease could any of you help me with ideas for potential topics i could do it on and/or the poems/books that would be good to base the ee on I like analysing so poems and books with deeper meanings could be a good idea? Idk

you could still help in terms of book/poem recommendations and topic ideas even if you're not an ib student yourself

Thankyou in advance for the help!!💕

Perhaps you could analyse on a particular theme and how it is presented, for example 'How the nature of war and it's impact on society is presented through literature' or take a look at a historical period of literature and explore its significance.

I have a friend who looked at the significance of tea and society in English Literature

I did my EE in English (category 1). Try looking through the english EE guide first (just google it) to get a general idea of what you want to do, and look at the examples that are given! What I did for mine was look at aspects of realism and romanticism in the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.
You could analyse a certain theme or literary technique in two novels and compare and contrast that, or you could just focus on one novel and analyse the effects of a certain writing style.
The important thing to consider is that its an essay about ***English*** so don't write one all about historical or societal context behind a novel etc. If you'd rather do that then write an EE in history hahaha.
    Good luck finding a topic!
