if you have dyslexia or some sort of medical condition that would cause you needing more time in the exams, then you have to report this to the IBO (and present a medical certificate) 18 months before your actual exams!!! (so basically pretty much as soon as you start IB)

There's one girl in my class who gets 50% additional time - i think that's pretty crazy... but oh well - the IB decided that.

So, right now... if any of you are doing IB then it's too late to get extra time. Now it's just those "unexpected" factors that might be taken into account.

18 months is just completely wrong tbh, I got mine in Feb and my exams are in Nov.

@gbutterfly I did lots of testing, and went to a behavioural optometrist, and all of the documention contributed to me getting extra-time.

yeah, it doesnt have to be 18 months beforehand thats ridiculous! just make sure if you do think you qualify for extra time that you get your IBC to send in the form asap
i get extra time and rest breaks because i get migraines a lot, so i take my medication in with me etc....other kids with me have dyslexia and sight problems.
i think there's probably three types of people who get errmm 'special considerations';
1. those who have long term problems (such as dyslexia)
2. those who get ill before or during their exams
3. those whos parents/aunts/dogs die on the day or before
i also got glandular fever and shingles about a month ago, so i got it on that too.
lucky me eh!
