Only an idiot would think the banks would leave. Pathetic. They have big banks in small developing countries yet you people think the 5th (soon to be 4th) largest economy in the world will lose everyone
They will shift people and services to within Europe.

HSBC have already said they will move 1000 people to Paris in a Brexit.

No. That is what you are making up in your head.

I stated that common institutions make continued cooperation easier. No more. No less.
You stated that common institutions prove that co-operation between bations is hard.
Regardless, that has no relevance to whether or not we need to be in the EU to be able to co-operate with other nations.

    (Original post by DorianGrayism)
I didn't say co-operation wouldn't work. I said it would be harder since we would not be part of any common decision making process.

The same way it is harder for Sweden to co-operate with NATO since it is not part of the organisation.

Being part of an Organisation like NATO or the EU enables the UK to have it's views heard and allows Co-operation to occur more easily, particularly in difficult situations.
Being part of an organisation allows co-operation within that organisations remit. You made a broad statement that if we left the EU we'd essentially be in the dark and be unable to co-operate with any European nation over anything. The EU certainly wants to dominate all aspects of everyone's life but it currently doesn't.

First I implied it. Now I stated it.

You should stop making things up as you go along.

That does not mean we are "in the dark". That does not mean be would be "unable" to co-operate.

You are just making things up as you are going along.

    2nd word in the title...

I don't care what the article title says.

Read what the HSBC executive states.

"If the UK leaves the EU it could have a significant impact on our non-ring-fenced bank - our trading room, corporate banking and investment banking"

"In that situation a number of jobs would leave the UK"

"We have 5,000 people in global banking and markets [HSBC's investment bank] in London and I could imagine that around 20% of those would move to Paris."

Now, obviously, this isn't a thought out policy by HSBC but it is highly likely jobs would be lost in a Brexit.

    lol

Your team would have me believe a Jahadi will come over and kill my mum if we remain in the EU.

As an undecided you can shove your equally stupid sentiment up where the sun don't shine. Flag waving aint gonna make me vote to leave.
I suggest you look through my posts on this thread. I have said nothing of the sort.

You claimed we'd have no mechanism to co-operate with Europe if we left the EU.
I proved your statement to be patently false. The EU is not required for us to co-operate with Europe. I've made nothing up; that's a straw man on your part.

He is saying that it "could have a significant impact on our non-ring-fenced bank ".

That doesn't mean he could move jobs.

    Try reading.
It's ironic, because you seem to be unable to do so yourself.

I don't see what you're struggling with here? The chap has clearly said:

IF the uk leaves the eu then there COULD be negative financial implications.

IF there WERE negative financial implications THEN we would move jobs
    .

No, he didn't say that second part. That is completely made up by you.

He said: "In that situation a number of jobs would leave the UK"

He didn't say HSBC Is going to wait around to see if there is damage to our banking before making a decision to move.

Yes, in the situation he described above that there COULD be negative impacts and he would then respond to such impacts if they did occur.

But that's exactly what he's said and done. They had a review into moving before the referendum and decided to stay.

Blair says there are WMDs in Iraq- liar
Blair says he is a socialist- now sitting on a 30 million a year income
Blair says he will not privatise the NHS- liar
Blair says we must join the euro- then he admitted he was wrong
Blair says we must stay in the EU- why do you suddenly support him?
I take it you do not understand the meaning of the word liar.

You claimed we'd have no mechanism to co-operate with Europe if we left the EU.
I said you have no evidence that Britain would have any mechanism on how we would cooperate on common issues such as Energy once we leave the EU.

I didn't say after we leave the EU, the world is coming to end and all cooperation will cease.

Yes, in the situation that there COULD be damage to HSBC then he would move jobs.

He didn't say I am going to wait to see if there is damage and then move.
