    Hello,

I've received and offer to study MiM Grand Ecole at HEC and MiM at IE. I am currently trying to decide between the two programs, length of program plays a factor but its not to do with funding as that is taken care of.

So here is my (perceived) pro/con sheet of each

    IE

    Pro
    -Actually in Madrid
-Spanish people are more friendly than French people (sorry French people)
    -One year (10 months)
    -Very dynamic program

    Cons
-Maybe academically not as "powerful" or recognised as HEC
-One year (10 months) this is also a con as well as a pro
    -Fairly "new"
-Not as highly regarded as MiM Grande Ecole

    HEC

    Pro
    -Academically prestigious
    -Massive alumni network (52,000)
-Specialization in luxury retail (this interests me greatly)
    -Perhaps better international reach

    Cons
-In a small town, it's not in Paris, it's just not
-Feels like a return to boarding school (dorms and catered meals three times a day, seriously? are we 16?)
-Rigor - this is obviously a pro as well, but I'm fairly lazy (I have no desire to study corporate law)

To give some context: I am about to graduate from a russell group university with a degree in politics (high 2:1), I've been involved in a number of extracurriculars at university so I am fairly "outgoing". I have enjoyed living in a city the last few years and value my independence (living in a flat versus a dorm)

I'm not sure what to chose, I welcome input on my (relatively good) predicament

Madrid is awesome! Both are great Universities.
HEC is outside of Paris. So its up to you: Do you want to live in Madrid downtown, or in a french village?
