Well, at the end of last term, which was on the 12th of February, I wrote a 5 paged letter to the head of English, to complain that I'm not supposed to study functional skills instead of GCSE English (you can read more about my rant in my last thread.) She thought that I was too dumb and cannot cope with it. But, she was wrong.
Functional Skills is a course aimed to those who have difficulties in learning English. The levels vary from pre-entry, Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 & Level 2. I was on Level 2 (on a computerized program called BKSB) where colleges do that.
So yeah.. the head of English said I can study iGCSE English + Functional Skills. Not Literature (or maybe) because of the coursework (I still have my old Of Mice and Men from last year lol) and it's really late in the year.
I'm so happy right now.. My English teacher was pleased because I'm the only one in the class that's going to be taught GCSE English and going to do it in the hall with everyone else in timed conditions. The rest of my peers are unfortunately going to have to do it in a separate room, on a computer and not do the actual GCSE exam, but another exam which is Functional Skills and they would have to retake it in college..
A LEVELS HERE I COME!!! So yeah, been a good day for me.
Now going to do iGCSE English instead of Functional Skills.. YESS! watch
